  • Condition: As is typical with many of the antique Chinese pieces, where applicable some of the hardware may have been replaced. There is general wear, and may be some shrinkage and age cracks that is typical for a piece this old, especially considering the climate difference. We feel these flaws add to the character of the piece and are preferable to replacement during restoration, Sometimes it is necessary to repair or replace certain components of the furniture, but that is typically done with antique wood. We try to be as clear as possible in the photos attached, however we are limited in the number of photos we can include, so it may not be possible to show every detail.     Large Rectangular Antique Chinese Ornately Carved Walnut Hall Table.
    35" Wide x 45" Deep x 35" Tall
    This beautiful Carved Walnut Hall table has a flush panel top. Each side is divided into 3 recessed panels, except the back side which has 2 panels. All of the panels have intricate relief and pierced carvings. The frame around each panel has a molded detail with a bead on the outside edge. That bead detail is also on the bottom of the stretcher below the drawers and also down the inside edges of the legs, as well as on the top and bottom edge of the bottom stretcher between the legs on each side.
    Each side has a beautifully carved apron below the upper stretcher on each side, and those detailed carvings continue down the inside of the legs. The front side,  which would be the narrow side with the 3 panels, had the most unusual carvings , which feature a series of intertwining dragons or serpents with finely carved scales along the length of the bodies.
    To make the table more functional, the carved panels on the 2 long sides have been modified to become the fronts of drawers that were added at some time.
    This unique rectangular Carved Walnut hall table is a truly one of a kind piece and would be the focal point in a big open hallway with a large floral arrangement or displaying a piece of sculpture. Even though some of the sides of this table have more details than others, this table is outstanding when viewed from any angle.
    This is a one of a kind piece and there may not be another similar table in the country.
