    Description

    Minature Classic Pewter Cat "Charlette" 2" H, also includes the separate white chair she is sitting on for display.  The chairs normally retail for .00. By buying them together you save .00.  These are not just any cat.  This is one of Martin Leman's Cats a World renown cat Artist. Martin Leman was born in England in 1934, he has always resided and worked in London. I am not sure if he is still living, could be, I was born in 1938.
    Mr. Leman has earned an international reputation for his unique, sophisticated, yet naive portraits of cats. Many of these printings have been reproduced and published in books, cards, and calenders with Worldwide Sales.  I purchased these cats in 1991 for my upscale Gift Shop in Kona, Hawaii.  We closed the shop due to the bad economy in 1992.  These cats have been in storage for 27 years,  in 23 more years the could be a valuable antique if there not now.  I don't think very many we made because Mr. Leman was not very well known in the USA and they didn't sell as good as they expected.
    The cat comes in Special Gift Box with the cats picture and name on it. They are meticulesly hand painted over Pewter and are designed based on actual cats of Mr. Leman paintings.  The most unusual thing about these cats are their eyes, there tiny holes drilled in the head of the cats and real tiny glass eyes are inserted into the head.  The cat looks like he's looking right into your eyes.  The chair is the same as one he used quite often in his paintings.  The chair comes in a separate box. The Chair makes a great display.  The price for both the Cat and the Chair is 24.95, the same price we sold them for in 1992,
    I just had a girl purchase (Ailoon), the other cat we have listed. She told that there are 15 cats in the collection and she has been looking for (Ailoon) for 15 years to complete her collection of all 15 cats. These cats were introduced in 1991and were only offered for a few years.  They are a rare collectable item now.
