Donath Dresden Hand Painted Floral Butterfly & Gold Reticulated Basket C. 1900
Very pretty reticulated porcelain basket with relief molded leaves in the center of each piece of reticulation and relief molded scrollwork designs in between framing hand painted pink, purple, blue, orange and yellow flowers. With hand painted pink, blue, purple, orange, and yellow flowers and white butterflies in a ring around the center of the dish. In the center of the dish are small pink roses inside blue ribbon squares. With gold gilt highlights to the reticulation and relief molding and gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the bottom with a green crown over Germany Dresden. This mark was used by Donath in Dresden Germany between 1893 and 1916.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 11 1/4 inches long x 6 3/4 inches wide x 2 1/4 inches tall.
