Battle Rattle Alarm 2 Handed Large Noise Maker Military Gas Warning Fire Police

This is a listing for what is believed to be  a World War 1 era wooden battle rattle.  Possibly a police or fire alarm as well.
The rattle is made of wood and put together with old iron nails. Item is in very good used antique condition.
It is 14 3/4  inches long and 11 1/4 inches wide with the crank handle included.  The main frame itself is 7 in wide. The noise maker requires 2 hands to operate.
There is no noted damage and works smoothly. The clacking sound is very loud and clear.  Some old nails appear to have been lost or moved over the years.  Several empty nail holes.
No maker`s name found.  Appears hand made.  The wood is smooth and has a great feel when touched.
