    Description

Although this example has the styling and decoration of porcelain from the Dresden area of Germany, the label on the bottom has Austria as the origin. Possibly the blank was created in Austria, next to Germany, and sold to a factory in Dresden, I am uncertain. This area of the country was famous for exquisite porcelain objects d’ art creations going back to the 18th century. This dish most likely was produced in the first quarter of the 20th century prior to World War II. The marking on the back would indicate the factory of production, many companies existed throughout history from this region as the porcelain clays were readily available for high quality work.  Most of the label has worn off, I am unsure other than “Austria“ is clearly readable. A quality example, this little master salt or possibly footed nut dish with scalloped rim has beautiful floral transfers on both the inside and exterior with gold highlights on the feet and rim.  It stands 1 5/8” tall and measures just under 3” across. No chips, cracks, damage or repairs. Decoration seems intact with little if any wear to either the florals or the gold. As stated earlier, the label on the bottom shows wear and only partially readable. A super nice example for any fine porcelain collection.  Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
    Thank you.
