  • Condition: As is typical with many of the antique Chinese pieces, where applicable some of the hardware may have been replaced. There is general wear, and may be some shrinkage and age cracks that is typical for a piece this old, especially considering the climate difference. We feel these flaws add to the character of the piece and are preferable to replacement during restoration, Sometimes it is necessary to repair or replace certain components of the furniture, but that is typically done with antique wood. We try to be as clear as possible in the photos attached, however we are limited in the number of photos we can include, so it may not be possible to show every detail.     Antique Chinese 50 inch long 3 Drawer Low Kang Table.
    This low table has a plank top that is connected to the solid ends with hand cut blind dovetails. The dovetail joints are only visible from the sides, not the top.
    This small table has a very simple design. The front framework, which consists mostly of the top and sides, plus the dividers between the drawers and the bottom rail, all have a small bead on the inside edges. The bottom rail also has the bead on the lower edge.
    There is a straight apron that run under the bottom rail with a small detail on each end. The apron also has the bead detail on the bottom edge.
    The 3 drawers have flat fronts and all have the original back plates on the pulls. At least one of the teardrop shaped pulls has been replaced.
    A small half round molded piece is attached inside the bottom of the end panels, giving the legs a scroll type look.
    This piece could fit in many places, but would fit really nice at the foot of a bed. It would also make an unusual coffee table or it would look great sitting under a wide screen TV.
    This un-restored piece is finished in a dark brown lacquer, and most of it remains although it does show a lot of wear. Its’ rustic look is beautiful, but it could easily be cleaned up for a more finished look. If that is your desire bur don’t want to tackle the job, we can do it for you.
